Post subject:  How to stop Backend in R5E50

I installed R5E50.

When I try to run mythtv-setup, it warns me, that the backend is running.

Sooo, I tried to stop it. Everbody seem to say, that I should type

Code:
mythbackend stop

to stop mythbackend. Sounds ok to me. But it doesn´t work. mythbackend responds, that stop is no valid argument and gives a list of arguments, that does not contain anything like stop.

Any ideas?

I use <ALT> 2 to stop & <ALT> 3 to start in R5D1. (I hope I didn't get those backwards).

The actual command from the command line is:
Code:
# /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop|start|restart

and the # means it should be done as the root user.

I had the same problem, still trying to figure it all out but, did find out you need a "-" like below...

Code:
mythtv-backend stop

This works for me....
