Post subject: | Issue with automountig USB mass storage... |
Hi * I have following problem with automounting USB mass storage in r5e50: -when I insert 1G USB FAT32 formated pen drive - myth correctly pops up with dir.browser and I can easily access content. -attaching ext HDD (ext.USB case with PATA-USB converter) - r5e50 detects drive, but no dir browser pops up. Here is log when USB pen drive is attached: ---------------------------------------------------- Apr 1 12:26:07 mythtv kernel: usb 3-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3 Apr 1 12:26:07 mythtv kernel: usb 3-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Apr 1 12:26:07 mythtv kernel: scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Apr 1 12:26:12 mythtv kernel: Vendor: ChipsBnk Model: Flash Disk Rev: 2.00 Apr 1 12:26:12 mythtv kernel: Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Apr 1 12:26:12 mythtv kernel: SCSI device sdb: 2068224 512-byte hdwr sectors (1059 MB) Apr 1 12:26:12 mythtv kernel: sdb: Write Protect is off Apr 1 12:26:12 mythtv kernel: SCSI device sdb: 2068224 512-byte hdwr sectors (1059 MB) Apr 1 12:26:12 mythtv kernel: sdb: Write Protect is off Apr 1 12:26:12 mythtv kernel: sdb: sdb1 Apr 1 12:26:12 mythtv kernel: sd 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi removable disk sdb Apr 1 12:26:12 mythtv kernel: UDF-fs: No VRS found Apr 1 12:26:13 mythtv kernel: Unable to identify CD-ROM format. Is this problem related to udev, or other r5e50 component ? thx in advance ! |

The obvious question is, has the USB drive been partitioned and formatted? Bruce S. |
