I am trying to do an update so I can install some software but when I try to type in my password it doesn't work not even the admin one I set up during install update: I found out that the pw was mythtv (I dont know why I have to setup a admin pw then) but now it is saying that it is not allowed to execute as root |

ok I figured it out what I had to do was logout and login as root for some reason they wouldn't let me sudo from mythtv accout |

Current KnoppMyth installs have 3 useful accounts: 1) the mythtv account which does all the GUI stuff (and runs a limited set of commands as root, via sudo), and 2) the root (administrator) account, which has no restrictions (i.e. full power to break things), and 3) a user account in your name, which is the one you should add sudo access to. |
