lirc 0.8.1 was released 07-Jan-2007, but KnoppMyth (and Debian also) are back on version 0.8.0.8.0-9.2

Any chance that will be updated very soon?

Why I care:

I've been playing around trying to get the ideal configuration for my MythTV box, and tried both KnoppMyth and MythDora. MythDora uses lirc 0.8.1, KnoppMyth uses lirc 0.8.0.8.0-9.2 (AFAIK).

I've got a brand new Hauppauge PVR-150 with remote, and it configures flawlessly in MythDora. But, have tried all the Hauppauge configurations available in the scripts in KnoppMyth, and I can't get the remote to work right. The best I can do is get it to navigate and play, but no fast forward or rewind.

I'm guessing that's the configuration routine in lirc itself?

Also, I apt-get uninstall’ed lirc, and it won't re-install... Was going to comple from source, didn't want to install kernel headers and gave up, went to install package, no go... KnoppMyth have something funky going on there?

Since I have it, the Hauppauge PVR-150 with remote is an important configuration to ME, but I don't know how popular it is, so I don't know if there is any motivation to update this?

I like KnoppMyth better overall, smaller, faster, easier to add deb packages like mozilla, and I hate to reinstall a 6th time, and have it be MythDora this time... but it's kind of pointless to watch without a remote.

On my KM systems /usr/sbin/lird --version shows
Quote:
lircd 0.8.1-CVS-pvr150

My Hauppauge A415-HPG (silver dog-bone) works perfectly in R5D1 + .20. Which remote are you using, and under which version of Knoppmyth?

Which remote did you select in /usr/local/bin/lirc-reconfig.sh (when setup asked you about your remote)? I made no changes to my /etc/lirc/lircd.conf or /home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc files after initial setup.

That's the thing, I've run that setup script over and over, and THOUGHT I tried every Hauppauge configuration offered. None work correctly, still no fast forward.

Mine looks exactly like this:

grey on top, black on bottom.

At your suggestion, I tried the "Silver remote (A415-HPG)" and it works. *@()!@! I would have thought it would have been a PVR-150 one, but NO...

ok, anyway, thanks :-)

It's KnoppMyth R5E50 (iso name anyway).
