I know, I know... telnet is not secure: I promise not to use it over the internet. That being said, what would be involved in setting up telnet so that I logon through the LAN? This would allow me to do several useful things. I am interested in screen captures and allowing my linux guru friends to view what I am viewing in real time through Windows Remote Assistant. |

Can't you acheive what you need with ssh or VNC? |

I have not used VNC or SSH, so I can not comment. It would be nice to avoid installing another piece of software on my PC. |

What you need on Windows is Putty. It is pretty lightweight, you don't even need to install it fully it as it can be run from a single executable file. |
