Before I didn't have to do any vodo to get a color osd with R5e50 and xvmc. I'm using the same xorg.conf. Not sure how to fix this for R5F1.

Thanks in advance

AFAIK, if XvMC is enabled/working, you will get the B&W OSD unless you use the "hack" described here: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/XvMC

Thanks for the reply, I don't remember doing this for R5E50 but I'll try it.

Most likely if you weren't getting a B&W OSD then XvMC wasn't really working for you. There was a known issue with an "out-of-the-box" install which meant it didn't work unless you fixed the library setup...

I am having the same problem. What part of the "hack" makes this work?

I should point out that I have an NVidia 7600GT. The hack says it doesn't work for 7 series cards..?

Oddly, in R5E1 it worked just fine out of the box. Low CPU utilization for HD. But it doesn't work now!

Since there has never been a public release called R5E1 - http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13537 and in R5E50 XvMC flat out didn't work "out of the box" until you fixed the library reference noted as Known issue 10 here - http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13108 and to the best of my knowledge Cecil has never supplied the color OSD with XvMC hack in say R5D1, and you don't have the hardware known to be needed for the hack, I think you're simply mistaken.

Perhaps.. but here is why I am confused...

In the previous version using XvMC I was getting about 26 percent cpu utilization and the de-interlace looked good. Now I get about 96% utilization and the interlace is poor in any setting. I really need some help with this one to get things looking right again.
