I keep getting mixed comments about this. Is Webmin already installed on KM R5F1?

Another question is a problem I am having with TV setup. When I start the TV up for the first time, it goes straight to a black screen, sits there for a minute or so, then it comes back to the Myth menu. I saw somewhere else that this can be caused by not having your record directories set up properly. Is this true?

And the final question would be about DVD playback. I have the same problem with the black screen with DVD playback as I do with the TV playback. And when I go to rip a DVD, it says the Transcode Daemon cannot be found. What is that all about? I can provide more info if you ask.

I use the web interface all day long. Works out of the box for me in F1.

As for the black screen, go to the KM wiki and search "black screen".

For the DVD, search "pineapple" on this forum to read what you need and then use the 'helper script' from chrisj to get what you need.

See http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... WatchingTV Be sure to include hardware specifics in the follow-up if that doesn't solve it.

What is your "DVD Player Command" set to under DVD Settings -> Play Settings?

Or does it say "Cannot connect to your Myth Transcoding Daemon..."? You simply need to press a number key to have it start (as it says on that screen)

Hah, i'd love to, but the Wiki seems to be down. How fun, i'll have to check it later.

I'll check on Pineapple next.

Before I go digging, what is the default port for Webmin? 10000? I haven't even tried it and I am at work. And is it already enabled or do I have to turn it on like Samba? I am asking these questions so I can save some troubleshooting time when I get home at 4.

That's what it says. I thought i pressed a key, but I might just be stupid. But I doubt I pressed a number key. I got the GUI to finally come up (after ditching the ATI video card for onboard) not 30 seconds before having to run out the door to go to work.

I think Too Many Secrets was referring to MythWeb, which is running on port 80 by default. You have to enable Webmin (I think, at least that's the case on R5D1) with update-rc.d webmin defaults and yes, it runs on port 10000 by default.

Opps. My bad... MythWeb runs out of the box... I'm going back to bed now.
