My wife stays at home during the summer, watching our 2 kids, and a few of the neighbor kids. It's been a very stormy afternoon... I got this note just a little bit ago, and thought I'd pass it on.

Hopefully, everyone who helped make Knoppmyth will enjoy reading this.

Interesting, it's quite stormy here too. The power went out and now my myth box won't even turn on! :(

Darned surge protector!

I highly recommend a UPS... Not too expensive, easy to configure (APC UPS', anyway), and a lot better than surge protectors. Momentary outages don't cause a shutdown, and if needed, the UPS daemon will shut the system down gracefully.

Seconded! The power went out last night but the KnoppMyth box just kept on going. The UPS isn't big enough to keep the TV running ;-) but at least when the power and the TV came back on it let me pick up right where I'd left off.

True! It is plugged into a UPS; however, turns out the battery is dead.

It turned on just fine when I plugged it into the outlet directly.

Guess I have to buy a new UPS!

you may be able to replace the battery in the UPS
