My wife stays at home during the summer, watching our 2 kids, and a few of the neighbor kids. It's been a very stormy afternoon... I got this note just a little bit ago, and thought I'd pass it on. Quote: On 6/27/07, Pamela wrote:

Interesting, it's quite stormy here too. The power went out and now my myth box won't even turn on! ![]() Darned surge protector! |

I highly recommend a UPS... Not too expensive, easy to configure (APC UPS', anyway), and a lot better than surge protectors. Momentary outages don't cause a shutdown, and if needed, the UPS daemon will shut the system down gracefully. |

Seconded! The power went out last night but the KnoppMyth box just kept on going. The UPS isn't big enough to keep the TV running ![]() |

True! It is plugged into a UPS; however, turns out the battery is dead. It turned on just fine when I plugged it into the outlet directly. Guess I have to buy a new UPS! |

you may be able to replace the battery in the UPS http://www.google.com/search?q=ups+batteries |
