I upgraded my backend from R5D1 to R5F27 last night and after some time it appears to be working (My main issue was resolving some PCHDTV5500 issues). Thanks Cecil and Co., the install just keeps getting better and better. I especially appreciate tjc's upgrade guide.

So, tonight I'm going to be upgrading my main frontend machine and I've been going over what I need to do to prepare myself. I know that there was a move to Xorg. tjc mentions in his guide to not just copy everything over from our XF86Config-4 file, but I cannot find any instructions on what should be copied over? I'm sure there's something here in the forums, but I'm not finding it. Can someone point me in the right direction? My frontend is on a Widescreen HDTV, so there was some tweaking going on in my XF86Config-4 file. I'd prefer to not have to restart from scratch...

Thanks!

In your "Monitor" section copy over the Modeline entries, along with your HorizSync and VertRefresh settings.

You can probably copy the "Screen" section across pretty much intact.

Be extra careful around Option lines in your "Device" section and Load lines in your "Module" section.

OBTW - Don't be afraid to make a backup copy of the file and strip it down to the minimum that you need. The less cruft you've got in there the fewer thing that can screw you up.
