Post subject: | Very strange tuner(s) behavior |
This one is weird... I have a backend box with 3 tuners (2 HD5000, 1 pvr250). One HD is QAM, one is over the air (OTA - digital) and the 250 is basic cable. After an upgrade to R5F27 everything is fine except a strange habit. On one digital channel (ABC - channel 9_1 on one card and 235 on the other) whenever a recording is scheduled from the guide the QAM tuner is the one scheduled and run; obviously the program guide has the same show for each tuner at the same time. Example, if I schedule Sunday night at 8 for ABC OTA, Extreme Makeover is recorded on the QAM tuner (235). This phenomena only occurs on that one channel - all others are fine... The only other clue to this behavior is that when I try to manually schedule something, channel 9_1 is not in the dropdown list (235 is). The channel editor (mythtv-setup) shows 9_1 and it looks right. I can watch live tv on both 9_1 and 235, I can record 9_1 from the live tv ('R' key). If I schedule a different channel for the QAM tuner (tuner is busy), then 9_1 will record per the program listings schedule. The database looks normal (the cards are there correctly, the channels are there and I even looked at the schedules in the database and they seem coorect). I have deleted all cards and video sources twice, I have run mythfilldatabase --refresh-all - no change. I am out of ideas. Please - ideas??? |

Do they have different xmltvids? Post the channel entries from the database for channels 9_1 and 235 Also, post the channel entries from the database for two channels, one for a channel for each card, that are working correctly. |

They do have the same XMLTV ID's ( I even tried changing 9_1 to a different ID to see what happened). The odd thing is that everything works - it is just that I cannot set the record for channel 9_1 unless the other HD5000 card is busy (can't set it at all thru the manual process). Am I correct that the channel scan actually puts the entry into the database and the call to Schedules Direct fills much of the pertinent data (XMLTV ID for example)? I am beginning to wonder if this issue is due to some error or problem with the scan of this channel ( I have deleted and rescaned several times)... I'm guessing you have two schedules direct listings? One for your cable listings and another for OTA? If this is the case, then the xmltvid should be unique for every channel. This might help you: http://forums.schedulesdirect.org/viewt ... ?f=6&t=328 |

I have followed that guide to get the XMLTV ID's for both the cable digital and the OTA digital. Schedules Direct provides the same XMLTV ID for both (that is where the ID's above came from. It is also part of my question. All of the channels in the database (and on the download from SD) have the same XMLTV ID for both the cable digital line up as the OTA digital line up. That makes sense to me since the scheduled shows are the same. Is this not correct? |
