Hi all. Installed R5F27 from scratch on a Sempron 3000 box with 1G RAM and an Nvidia 6200 AGP card. Worked just fine all the up to switching from monitor over to TV out. I used the xorg.conf.nvidia.tv.out example file. I used the SVIDEO out on the nvidia card hooked to a SVIDEO-to-composite connector to the TV. Also, I did set the following in the xorg.conf file (I am in the US, so NTSC-M).

Option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV"
Option "TVStandard" "NTSC-M"

Option "TVOutFormat" "COMPOSITE"

Now, when I boot up , I get no output to the TV and see this in my Xorg.log file. I did check the connections to the nvidia card and TV and they seem quite tight.

(WW) NVIDIA(1): Unable to load "xf86ExecX86int10".
(EE) NVIDIA(1): Unable to initialize the X Int10 module; the console may not
(EE) NVIDIA(1): be restored correctly on your TV.

Any ideas as to what's going on? Anyone else seen this problem with R5F27?

Cecil: Great job with R5F27... the Schedules Direct stuff just worked! I really appreciate the hard work!

Let me start by saying I haven't installed R5F27 yet. I am still on R5F1. I didn't have to modify the xorg.conf file to use tv out. After the initial install was completed with a computer monitor, all I had to do was shut down, connect the TV to tvout and disconnect the computer monitor from the video card (FX5200) and start up the computer.

The computer monitor needs to be disconnected at the video card, just turning it off doesn't do it. The nvidia driver sensed the lack of monitor and the connected TV and just did what it needed to do! Have you tried that with your unmodified xorg.conf? (You did save it before modifying it, right?)

Did you get any errors in xorg.log before you modified xorg.conf?

Thanks for the tip. I did save the original xorg.conf file, but I did not just leave it when I switched over to TV. Will give that a go and see what happens.

I'm interested in hearing of your results -- I have the same problem. I'll wait to hear more before posting details, if required.

Well, here is what I ended up doing... I punted. I replaced my nvidia 6200 AGP card with an nvidia 5500 agp card from another PC I had lying around and reinstalled R5F27. Then I simply powered off, disconnected from the monitor and re-connected to the TV using an SVIDEO to COMPOSITE cable. Then I simple powered back on (without messing with xorg.conf at all) and voila! I am in business and everything is working as expected!!

If I get some time later, I will try and install R5F27 with another PC with the nvidia 6200 AGP card. Will post the results... but won't happen this week.

Thanks for all the advice.

anyone else get this? I have an nforce4 mb having the same problem. I've tried forcing an older driver, but then I get mixed drivers kernel/xorg different versions. I don't have another card to put in this machine. would be nice if someone could figure a fix out for this.

There are some blacklisted 6200 cards. Have you tried forcing the install of the newest drivers provided (1.0.9755) and disabling the nvidia autoinstaller? See this thread:

BTW - We've got at least three separate conversations running on this topic now, it might make sense to merge them.

well it's not just 6200's since mine is an old nforce2 board. I tried forcing and older version, but I may have to go back yet another version. Anyone know what version was in R5F1 cause that one worked just fine on this board.

I solved the int10 error by loading the nvidia drivers from R5F1 similar to this post.
