Post subject: | Nvidia Video Issues - Slow Menu's - Grainy Picture |
This is really starting to frustrate me. I have probably installed KM about 8 times now trying to get it to work. I am EXTREMELY new to Linux so bear with me, I have no idea what I am doing. I have an Nvidia 6200LE, a Leadtek 2000, and MX46-533 motherboard. There are certain themes that work slow, (the keyboard arrows take forever to move up and down in the menu's), and when watching video there is a black bar around the entire video and a white and black "static line" at the top of the video that seems to be a couple pixels tall. I am sure that this is probably a video driver issue but I installed drivers from Nvidia's website sucessfully and nothing has changed. Does anyone have any idea's? I am using the S/Video out on the video card to a Sony Trinitron 32" CRT tv. Is that my problem? The TV is a few years old but in my opinion is a very nice TV. My buddy has his outputting to a 32" LCD using VGA and it looks great. When I use VGA and hook it up to my 15" Dell LCD it looks great. It is only the TV that has issues. Also the picture is really grainy. I am pretty sure that the cable connection is ok, is it possible that the TV tuner is just a piece of junk? I have to go into ALSAMIXER to set the proper recording channels and volumes so the audio is even in sync with the video. |

A lot of us have issues with the newest NVidia drivers in R5F27. Is that the version of Knoppmyth you are using? You can try going back to the drivers in the previous version of Knoppmyth, which I have posted the process on the wiki: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=NVidiaDriversR5F27 |
