I upgraded to R5F27 and my channel icons in Program Guide and Mythweb no longer show. The icon field in the channel table is set correctly and the box for show icon is checked in setup. This always worked in earlier versions.
I have a complete set of icons and dont want to use the mythfilldatabase options to download new ones. I've also symlinked my /myth/channelicons folder to /home/mythtv/.mythtv/channels, but still nothing shows. Restarted frontend, rebooted, etc. Still no show even in program guide.
The database is set to icon = /myth/channelicons/cbs_30.jpg, etc.

Any ideas? Is that new iconmap.xml required now? I hope not...
Thanks in advance.

Make sure that user mythtv has permissions to view the folder.

yes mythtv does have rw rights to /myth/channelicons and also to all files in the channelicons folder.

So if you go to /myth/channelicons and do an ls you see all the icons?

Is this all on one box?

Yup they are all there and on same box. It worked fine on older versions even after SVN upgrade so I could use schedules direct, but ever since I upgraded to R5F27 they dont show up.

Hmm, don't know what to tell you. If the images are there and the database is pointing to them but they aren't displayed... Doesn't make sense to me.

Sorry I'm not any help...

In my database they are all pointing to /home/mythtv/.mythtv/channels/*.jpg This folder is owned by user and group mythtv.

You might try manually editing one entry to point to this folder instead of /myth/channelicons and seeing if the one icon shows up...

Also, try running chown -h mythtv:mythtv /myth/channelicons if you haven't already.

kmkittre - Thanks for your help, but I found the problem. I'm an idiot.

I used an old script to populate the icon field and forgot that I downloaded a complete new set of icons, with all new filenames, from lyngsat. I was pointing to files that didn't exist..... Doh!

No problem. We all have our moments ;-)
I ran everyone in circles for over a week because I had bought a wrong cable...
