I recently upgraded to R4, and while I've gotten my listings working again and everything else seemed to be running great.. I occasionally get "dark" or "near all black" recordings now. It is not consistant, and sometimes the begining of the recording is fine. But several recordings have shown up very very dark with just the faintest outline of video. Live TV works fine and most recordings are fine. I'm wondering if this seems like a transcoding issue.. or just a straight recording issue. I do transcode down to MPEG4 after recording shows. |

I'd bet if you turned the brightness up high enough you'd see that is dark red, with some green. I'd also bet you're using a BTTV tunner.
