thanks, tjc! Finally bit the bullet and followed the instructions on the wiki reverting back to the R5F1 drivers. All seems well again

I've been trying to resslove my lack of opengl and tv flickering since I have an older 440MX on board video. Anyway, what is the out-of-the-box version of the nvidia driver that would be installed on a R5F27 system? Can someone test this for me by simply running $nvidia-settings from a shell within X? The first screen show display a version number of the "NVIDIA Driver Version" section. Thanks! |

It depends. The scripts try to install the appropriate driver for your card. The available options are listed on this wiki page: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... iversR5F27 There is also a text file that contains the compatibility lists that the script uses to try to pick the driver. See the comments in /usr/local/bin/check-nvidia-driver-version.pl for the details. |
