Hi,

I've recently upgraded my TV, and have gone from 4:3 to 16:9.

I am however getting problems with DVB widescreen feeds and DVDs displaying in the correct aspect ratio - they appear squashed as if Knoppmyth is continuing to format them for a 4:3 letterboxed screen.

From reading up, it seems that I should be able to fix this by overriding the DPI option in /etc/X11/xorg.conf, or adding a Modeline appropriate for my TV's native resolution.

I've tried both of these and I'm having issues with these changes sticking past boot time- xorg.conf seems to get overwritten by an autogenerated file each time it boots.

Is there some other configuration file I should be changing that I've missed?

I'm running R5F1 at present - if this is a bug that's been fixed then I'll happily upgrade but otherwise I'm rather loathe to tinker with what is otherwise a working system.

Thanks very much in advance for any advice that you can give me.
