I used the IP addy as the host name under setup>general but I know if mythfilldatabase cares about that. If you have a single box as your backend/frontend try using 127.0.0.1 or reading to docs. It's been so long since I've setup a single machine I can't remember!

Can your machine hit the WAN? Try logging into the box via ssh or from a local console and attempt to ping google.com or yahoo.com and see if you get a reply.

I am not clear on what you are asking... Are you setting up a single machine? Or do you have others on the network that will use this machine as a backend? If it is the former then it is simple (and should have worked out of the box). Use the loop back default address (127.0.0.1). That should have been the default when you set it up. Don't worry about what DHCP set as the card address...

What is an airport express? A router, a simple access point, something else? What errors do you see when you run mythfilldatabase?

What is the output of ifconfig -a?
Can you traceroute webservices.schedulesdirect.tmsdatadirect.com?

If you wish to use DHCP you need a DHCP server to supply your IP address, your subnet mask, your DNS servers, etc. As nbdwt73 mentioned, on a combined frontend/backend box you shouldn't have to change any Myth settings.

For those that don't know an Airport Express is an Apple Wireless Access Point.

As to old mates problems, yes in a single BE/BE solution you don't need to touch the addresses. As to the problem with mythfill not running you need to try the things already suggested and get back to us to give us some more info to help you.

Cheers.
