Post subject:  PiP in program guide has wrong aspect ratio

I've been using R5F27 for a few weeks now with only a few minor issues. I've noticed that live TV in the PiP window in the program guide has the wrong aspect ratio. The PiP window has the expected 4:3 aspect ratio, but I'm only seeing the left two thirds (approximately) of the live TV image. Full screen live TV and recorded programs are fine, so this is not a critical issue for me. Any ideas how to correct this? Could this have something to do with incorrect entries in my xorg.conf file? This is the first version of MythTV I've gotten to work with xorg.

Thanks.

It's not your xorg.conf just a scaling bug of some kind. The preview window when you have the channel menu up displays the same behavior.

I've had this same problem on my combined frontend/backend since I started using mythtv a few years ago. After trying various things to fix it I've come to assume it is a problem with my hardware. Another remote frontend doesn't have the problem so it doesn't appear to be related to the tuners. I'm using an nvidia 5200fx, which seems to be fairly popular, but maybe there is a problem with certain models, or maybe the motherboard chipset, or maybe some certain combination of things. The problem has survived many versions of mythtv and nvidia drivers.

I've seen this with HD channels, but SD seems to be OK.

I've had oddly mixed results testing this. I suspect that the recording profiles used and default state of the tuners play into it some how. Try this (assuming 2 tuners):

Watch TV, then enable PiP (thus bringing the other tuner up from cold) - Do you see the truncation?

Now disable it, and use the "Y" key to get it to swap tuners (ensuring that both are initialized to the same recording profile), then enable PiP - Does it look right?
