Can MythTV use both ATSC EIT and Schedules Direct Data?

The program times in SD are sometimes wrong due to special
programming or timeslot overflow. Can KM use EIT data to
update the schedule info it gets from SD? Does the data in the
EIT stream even get updated when the evening's schedule has
been slipped?

I currently use a mix of EIT and Schedules Direct.

When setting up your sources be sure to select "SCAN EIT" (or whatever the wording is) in addition to setting up Schedules Direct.

Then, from your Channel Info screen you will need to deselect ALL channels "USEONAIRGUIDE" check except for those channels you want to pull data using EIT.

You will also want to remove the XMLTVID # for those channels that have "USEONAIRGUIDE" checked.

I may not be understanding what you're doing, but it sounds
like you're using SD for some channels and EIT for some
channels so that each channel has a single source for listing
data? If so, that's not what I'm asking about.

I want to use SD for all channels, but I want the program times
to be updated from EIT since the SD program times are sometimes
incorrect (I'm assuming EIT program times are more correct than
SD times). Is that what you're describing?

Oh, I think I see what you're saying.

I use either SD or EIT. They won't work properly together. Because the EIT data that overwrites the SD data will often change more than just the time for a program. It might change, for example, the category type from drama to adventure.. And when this happens, Myth will often not record the show because the original data no longer reflects the new data.

Hope that makes sense.

I think you'd have to write some custom code in order to achieve what you're trying to do.
