| Post subject: | starting mythtv through terminal |
when I give command 'mythtv' or 'mythtvfrontend' from terminal it is giving me the error cannot connect to X server... whatt is the problem. Also I have installed firefox on my Mythtv but while executing the executable file it says 'cannot open display'...please help ________ E cigarette |

Julia, Are you doing this from the Mythbox itself or are you logged in through SSH. If it is the latter you are generally not running a X-Server and thus you can not startx. If you are on the Mythbox you can simply press ALT+M For future reference this sort of topic should go under General not installation as it is not related to the Installation of KnoppMyth. |
