 Post subject: mythtv from terminal

when I give command 'mythtv' or 'mythtvfrontend' from terminal it is giving me the error cannot connect to X server... whatt is the problem.

Also I have installed firefox on my Mythtv but while executing the executable file it says 'cannot open display'...please help
