If you are asking if you can turn off recording of a show when you "Watch TV" I believe the answer is no. Recording the program you are watching is what allows you to pause/play, fast forward, rewind, etc.

Or if you're asking how to turn off auto expiration - use the right arrow on the selected show in the listing and you will be presented with a menu with an auto expiration item, where you can change the setting to keep the show.

Cheers,
/Chris

Then why use the "Watch TV" functionality? Aside from some high-definition sports programs my family doesn't use it at all, we use the MythTV boxen to record, store music and pictures, etc. If you are using your MythTV box for a specialized application such as security cam or some such then post what you are trying to ultimately accomplish and maybe someone here can give you pointers.

Any recordings from watching live TV will expire in a day or two
