System:
P4 2.4 GHz, 512mb ram, Nvidia 5000 series vid card

System was working fine with all previous knoppmyth installations. I did a fresh install of R5F27 to get a good start and now...

After a day or so, live TV and recorded TV stutters ever few seconds, but the audio sounds smooth. Downloaded videos (Divx etc) also stutter. Rebooting the machine fixes it, but after a day or so, it comes back. CPU is not really being used, happens even if it's not recording.

any help would be greatly appreciated, i'm a linux noob so please be clear with what info you may need or instructions. Thanks!

Did you happen to install rrdtool for the first time?

If so you you might have a problem with mbmon.

no, never installed it, im thinking it might be the thermal grease on my CPU, as in the BIOS I see the Temp of my celeron D processor(about 1 1/2 years old) at 185 degrees F..which i would think might be the problem. So im going to move my hardware to another PC and see if a fresh install on it corrects the issue.
