I had my PVR_150 IR Blaster working great with my old STB, but I configured it so long ago that I'm trying to remember the process. I'm trying to configure it to go with my new DCT6200, but it's not working. I read somewhere that the DCT6200 takes code 85, so I changed out the codes between "begin raw_codes" and "end raw_codes" with the "85" codes from wget http://www.controlaltdeleted.com/myth/lircd.conf Am I forgetting to do something? Here is my lircd.conf: Code: Yellow 0x00000000000017B8
Blue 0x00000000000017A9 end codes end remote root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# root@mythtv:/etc/lirc# cat lircd.conf # # this config file was automatically generated # using lirc-0.5.5pre8 on Sun Apr 18 11:43:45 1999 # # contributed by Jens Leuschner <leuschner@gmx.net> # # brand: Hauppauge # model: # supported devices: WinTV primo; WinTV pci; WinTV radio # # This config file will work with both homebrew receivers and # original Hauppauge TV cards !!! # begin remote name blaster bits 32 flags RAW_CODES eps 0 aeps 0 plead 0 gap 333333 repeat_bit 0 begin raw_codes name 0 5570560 name 1 5570561 name 2 5570562 name 3 5570563 name 4 5570564 name 5 5570565 name 6 5570566 name 7 5570567 name 8 5570568 name 9 5570569 name POWER 5570570 name CH_UP 5570575 name CH_DOWN 5570576 name MUTE 5570577 name VOL_DOWN 5570578 name CH_PREVIOUS 5570579 name VOL_UP 5570580 name DISPLAY 5570581 name MNSELECT 5570583 name EXIT 5570584 name INPUT 5570586 name GUIDE 5570587 name FAV 5570589 name MENU 5570607 name MUP 5570608 name MDOWN 5570609 name MLEFT 5570610 name MRIGHT 5570611 name FF 5570612 name PLAY 5570613 name REW 5570614 name REC 5570615 name PAUSE 5570616 name STOP 5570617 end raw_codes end remote begin remote name Hauppauge bits 13 flags SHIFT_ENC eps 30 aeps 100 one 950 830 zero 950 830 plead 960 gap 89584 repeat_bit 2 begin codes TV 0x000000000000100F RADIO 0x000000000000100C FULL_SCREEN 0x000000000000102E CH+ 0x0000000000001020 CH- 0x0000000000001021 VOL- 0x0000000000001011 VOL+ 0x0000000000001010 MUTE 0x000000000000100D SOURCE 0x0000000000001022 1 0x0000000000001001 2 0x0000000000001002 3 0x0000000000001003 4 0x0000000000001004 5 0x0000000000001005 6 0x0000000000001006 7 0x0000000000001007 8 0x0000000000001008 9 0x0000000000001009 0 0x0000000000001000 RESERVED 0x000000000000101E MINIMIZE 0x0000000000001026 end codes end remote # # this config file was automatically generated # using lirc-0.6.6(animax) on Tue Apr 15 19:50:27 2003 # # contributed by # # brand: Hauppauge # model no. of remote control: # devices being controlled by this remote: PVR 2/350 # begin remote name hauppauge_pvr bits 13 flags RC5|CONST_LENGTH eps 30 aeps 100 one 969 811 zero 969 811 plead 1097 gap 114605 toggle_bit 2 begin codes Power 0x00000000000017FD Go 0x00000000000017FB 1 0x00000000000017C1 2 0x00000000000017C2 3 0x00000000000017C3 4 0x00000000000017C4 5 0x00000000000017C5 6 0x00000000000017C6 7 0x00000000000017C7 8 0x00000000000017C8 9 0x00000000000017C9 Back/Exit 0x00000000000017DF 0 0x00000000000017C0 Menu 0x00000000000017CD Red 0x00000000000017CB Green 0x00000000000017EE Yellow 0x00000000000017F8 Blue 0x00000000000017E9 Ch+ 0x00000000000017E0 Ch- 0x00000000000017E1 Vol- 0x00000000000017D1 Vol+ 0x00000000000017D0 Ok 0x00000000000017E5 Mute 0x00000000000017CF Blank 0x00000000000017CC Full 0x00000000000017FC Rewind 0x00000000000017F2 Play 0x00000000000017F5 Forward 0x00000000000017F4 Record 0x00000000000017F7 Stop 0x00000000000017F6 Pause 0x00000000000017F0 Replay 0x00000000000017E4 Skip 0x00000000000017DE end codes end remote # # this config file was automatically generated # using lirc-0.7.0(any) on Sun Nov 28 20:25:09 2004 # # contributed by # # brand: Hauppauge 350 # Created: G.J. I think the first thing you should do is confirm that your STB really does use code 85 by typing at the command line: Code: irsend SEND_ONCE blaster POWER
You also might try a newer firmware file for the 150. I had problems with mine until I did so. |

It doesn't work, but everybody says that the DCT6200 responds to code 85. |

What would be the next step if I go through the entire send_power_new script and it never powers off the cable box? (Yes, my IR blaster is flashing red with each key power attempt and yes it is directly on the IR receiver area of the cable box.) |

And it worked before, right? Oooh, just noticed that it worked with an older STB, not this new one. Hm. All I can suggest is getting the latest PVR-150 firmware and lircd.conf from the blushing penguin site and try that. I had very inconsistent results (for instance, going through the entire script and it not powering off the cable box) until I did so. http://www.blushingpenguin.com/mark/blog/?p=24 The other thing I noticed about the script is that it seemed sometimes to toggle the power, so if you started with it off, then went away and came back later, it was still off, but only because one of the codes worked but turned it on then back off. I think--that was some of the behavior before the firmware upgrade. |

The blushing penguin instructions unfortunately broke my lirc and I can't get it back in working order. Is there any way to reset everything back to the way Knoppmyth had lirc configured? Irsend now fails whenever I try to use send_power_new or chan_change scripts. |

I can't say I'm an expert at this but I did just go through it with my STB. When you copied the firmware to the appropriate folder, did you reboot? I think I tried the modprobe lines, but the only thing that got the new firmware working was a reboot. Maybe even a power-down for 15 minutes to "force" the old firmware out of the card. Did you copy the new lircd.conf from blushing penguin too and replace your existing one? Remember that the blushing penguin lircd.conf has keynames that include the codeset name. That should work for send_power_new script from the same site. Also note that in KM default install, I think the file at /etc/lircd.conf is actually a symbolic link to /etc/lircd/lircd.conf. Not sure if you need to copy the file to /etc/lircd/lircd.conf but that's what I did. If you get that working and get your codeset, I think that a better channel change script can be found here: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 2965#82965 All you have to do is edit the script to include your codeset, no need to remove other codesets from lircd.conf. |
