Oh? If so...that saves me some work! So it is! http://www.mysettopbox.tv/CHANGELOG.txt Very nice! Now, to see if I can get WoW working in it. I'd love to put it on a separate machine, but right now, that's not an option. Looking at this, it appears I may just be able to copy the directory from my windows machine across and do a couple minor changes ![]() http://www.wowwiki.com/Linux/Wine |

I'm confused. I can't for the life of me get this to work. Been browsing forums, but the advice doesn't help. Where is the "root" for wine? It keeps giving the error that it can't find the Dos Drive for current working directory "/home/mythtv" |

Oh, got that fixed it seems. One step closer. Now I get Warning: the specified System directory L"c:\\windows\\system32" is not accessible. ...Do I have to copy my windows directory here as well??? |

I thought wine was something you drank. Guess its been too long since I had anything to do with the M$ form of unreality. |

I am thinking my problem is something with winecfg but my mouse has never worked in KM, so I'm having trouble using it. ![]() |

I played around with this a while ago and didn't have a mouse either. If I remember correctly, the necessary keyboard shortcuts are: <Tab> Move between buttons <Return> Press current button <Alt>-F Open the "File" Menu In the File menu, cursor up/down and enter to select. Of course, this gets a little interesting when half the buttons are off the screen, but a little trial and error will find them. Once you have run winecfg, there should be a .wine directory with the necessary "drive_c" or "C:" drive. You just need to run and exit winecfg to set it up. Easiest way to install/execute a package is: wine ./setup.exe (assuming setup.exe is in the current dir). to install something. wine "C:\Program Files\MyProg\runMyProg.exe" (Note quotes) to run the newly installed program. Replace MyProg and runMyProg.exe as appropriate. Cheers, Allen |

I'll give it another go tonight when I get home. I'd love it if my mouse worked though. ![]() |

Ok. I got my mouse working. I got wine working...almost. There's two issues. The first, is when I run winecfg and add an application, it doesn't stay, it's like it's not saving it's config. The second, is I have no sound in wine. I think it has to do with alsa not being setup properly? Since I selected OSS, and I'm launching it from mythGame, maybe the frontend is blocking it? The reason I think this is likely, is if I try to setup the myth remote button sounds, I can either have them working, or sound while watching videos, not both. Could this be a problem because I am still using onboard sound? Or not? I have a AV-710, I just haven't had a chance to build the slave back end and move a tuner out of the fe/be box to make room for it. Should I just wait on trying to fix this until that's done? Or does it matter which sound 'card' I'm using to get this setup? Thanks, -C |
