We've had an issue crop up. My wife's been transcoding TV shows and burning 'em to DVD using myth-archive. When we play the DVDs on our computers (linux box using xine, WinXP box using Media Player) or using mplayer on the myth box that made the DVD, everything plays back fine, other than some visible scanlines.

The problem comes when the DVDs go into our fancy ubercool Oppo 981 upconverting DVD player. The video comes out very jittery and pixellated. Anyone out there encountered similar behavior?

I'll have to dig up the exact parameters were fed to the various utilities along the way; for now I"m just fishing to see if this general problem rings any bells.
