Hi! I'm using R5F1 installed on a single machine, an AMD 64, using PVR-350 as TV-card. I've noticed a few things that happends after the box been running for a while: 1) I usually close the MythTV-menu when not using the machine, to avoid problems with someone just "pushing on the remote". Sometimes though, when the "are you sure you want to close" screen is shown, I can't select either of the "buttons", as there is no highlighting. 2) On occasion when I've been watching a video, suddenly the "watch TV" mode is activated without me touching anything. This then happens a few times in a row (I exit from the TV-mode and goes in to the recordings screen to delete the newest recording, and suddenly I'm in TV-mode again). Any clues on why either of these things happens, and what I can do to avoid them? Any opinions if I should upgrade to R5F27? I've found a change log, but can't really tell from that if I benefit a lot from it or not. br, Mike |

I would start by shutting down and running a memory test for a couple of hours or over night. I believe there is one on the install CD. Also make sure the CPU fan and power supply fans are still spinning at full speed. |

I've never seen the issues you describe, but I'm pretty sure they would be in the Myth Software itself, not the KM distro. Perhaps a wider search would turn up something. For US users "Schedules Direct support" was the instant deal maker on the decision to upgrade. Since you list Sweden as your location that doesn't really apply. On the other hand... In general, the upgrade path is smoothest when upgrading from the latest version. So, IMHO, when the next release comes out, you'll have an easier time if you take the current upgrade. When a new release comes out I generally look to see if there is a reason NOT to upgrade. (there usually isn't) The number of features I want sets my priority for upgrading. Is there anything in the ChangeLog that would break you? |
