Post subject:  Gallery as a slide show

Hi,

The other day while being a couch tomato listening to the radio and browsing the gallery, it became obvious to me that I could see no way to activate a slide show using the remote. I don't recall anyone mentioning it on the forum nor does a search show me anything of value.

Ideas?
Mike

When you are in MythGallery, pressing the 'M' or 'menu' will take you to the menu on the side. You can then select SlideShow.

Hi,

Sometimes a simple push.... The M works from the kybd but menu on the A415 remote, it didn't do for me. A quick browse through the .mythtv/lircrc shows the guide button is mapped to M and that worked. I am not sure if it is the default install lircrc file so the menu button may be valid normally.

Thanks for the nudge :)

Hey Mike,

I have a question - have you tried "play" (whatever is mapped to the "p" key - in my case it is the play button on my remote) without going thru the menu ("M")? That has, for as long as I can remember, started the slideshow.

Hi,

Oh I think I had tried almost every key (missed one as Cecil pointed out :) ) so to be sure I did try the "p" key from keyboard and from the A415 and neither worked to start the show. I am actually comfortable with the setup, just the menu trick was hiding from me as I was thinking it would just start the show rather then step into menu..

IF it does in fact still work for you, maybe share the .mythtv/lircrc entry as would like to try that as an option.

Thanks
Mike
