I've got mythtv working great except for xmame. I used xmame on the command line and got the following debug.

To what socket is xmame attempting to connect?

Any advice would be great.

I've no idea, but it seems the problem is an inaccurate ROM...

I believe it's trying to connect to the lirc socket.

Also, when xmame is started without specifying a rom it will use the default game listed in /etc/xmame/xmamerc. Check that it and other games work, it might be a bad rom.
