I'm trying to enable DVI output. I tried editing the xorg.conf several different ways, but could never get good results. Then I deleted my xorg.conf and rebooted and somehow X started and I now have a working 480p output (albeit video is a tad slow) over DVI. (Technically it is coming out of both the VGA and the DVI out simulateneously.)

If xorg.conf isn't available, does the OS use another file in the directory? If so, which one?

If not, then did it prob my TV for the settings? Is there a way to dump these settings to a file? I'd like to dump them to an xorg.conf and using them as a starting point so I can edit modelines for 720p and 1080i.
