HI everyone,

I upgraded a debian system that had mythtv installed and by accident it brought the mythtv version up to one that is incompatible with R5F27- my backend. I started myth on this frontend once and got the "running different versions" error message. A couple of days later I noticed that the backend had stopped recording. No cards were listed in the tuners section. I checked the db table manually and the entries were still there. I did a global repair of mysql tables and finally deleted all cards. When I add a card, they are not listed in the mythtv-setup, but they do show in the db when accessed outside of myth. Here is the event that seems to have corrupted something:

So I thought that I would just tackle the upgrade and luckily stumbled across this thread before starting.:

Turns out, my issue is that my Debian Lenny Frontend upgraded my R5F27 Databases to schema 1214 without asking. The R5F27 Code doesn't work with the new DB since there are new tables, columns, relationships, etc. The cardid table has changes that result in the old sql query failing.

Aptitude should NOT be allowed to make changes on other computers without asking/warning...
