(Both a curiosity and troubleshooting question)

Where in the bootup or shutdown process does Mythtv set the flag indicating whether or not the system was woken up automatically (ACPI, nv-ram) vs. manually woken up by the user?

I have my box doing auto-shutdown and ACPI auto-wakeup. But regardless of if I push the power button, or it auto-wakes, the mythbackendlog always indicates: "Seem to be woken up by USER".

Basically, when mythwelcome starts it compares MythShutdownWakeupTime in the database to the current time, and if it is in a certain window (15 minutes, I think) it determines it has been auto-started, otherwise it was a manual boot.

Great reference. Thanks! I'll fiddle around and see if that field MythShutdownWakeupTime field in the settings sql table is being set before shutdown. I'll report back.

The reason for it not setting was a broken MythWelcome, and possibly some other items (likely due to a large dependencies list during an apt-get)

A reinstall did the trick.
