Post subject:  knoppmythwiki passphrase riddle
Hi,
This might seem a bit stupid :oops: but I'm trying to add a how to on the Knoppmyth wiki and know how to edit the pages, but when it comes to entering the passphrase riddle I am just plain stumped! Is there any limit to the number or type of characters I need to enter or any particular method to interprtetting the riddle such as I had the riddle:
Code:
'U' +2 letters,
_X_,
small 'W' +1 letters
;
'P' +3 letters
and not a
"R",
but 3 chars before F
-
'Q' +3 letters,

So my guess was: UXXwPRRRFQQQ
But this did not pass the captcha.

The other difficulty in finding the captcha is that the riddle is only avaliable for a small time when you hover your mouse over it.

Please could someone help me out in getting the hang of this as otherwise I cannot edit the wiki,

I had the same problem you did, so I downloaded firefox. When you use the firefix browser, you don't have to deal with the riddle, although you still need to deal with the sometimes difficult to read letters.

Hi thanks for that marc.aronson you are right IE was not up to the job in editing the forum. I've got firefox now and can read the captcha much more easily and have been able to upload my how to to the wiki.

Glad that helped. The real problem is the nut cases in this world that think it's fun to mess up repositories like the Knoppmyth wiki. It's always a difficult balance between keeping things open and accessible vs. protecting the info from corruption by people with bad intentions. My feeling is that Xsecrets is doing a great job of balancing these conflicting objectives with the mechanisms he is put in place with the knoppmyth wiki.

I think Xsecrets is still responsible for the KnoppMythWiki: he doesn't hang out here as much as he used to but does show up from time to time.
