I'm seeing a very strange problem when trying to play back any HD video through my ancient pvr-350 in R5.5. The problem is I'm seeing a weird ghost image overlayed on top of the video, and I can't get it to go away! The image doesn't overtake the screen completely, it just "tints" it, so to speak.
The problem happens with both mplayer and xine, but does not seem to occur w/ VLC for some reason. The problem also does not occur when the videos are played in Windows.
Here's a picture of the issue:

As you can tell, the overlayed image is identifiable as the WB logo. The content of the image changes from time to time, but I haven't yet figured out what causes it to change. Something to do with the last program I watched or something...
The problem occurs with all the H.264 videos I've encoded, but does NOT occur with xvid videos. It also occurs with any HD videos I have downloaded as well.
Since it happens with both Xine and mplayer, I'm not sure where to start with this one. Should I try upgrading ffmpeg or something? I'm scared to do this, cause it looks like it touches a log of libraries.
Any ideas?
