What are you guys using to stream music from mythweb to a windows machine? I've got an Ubuntu machine at work that works great, and right next to it is a win2k machine that won't do it with winamp, media player classic, or anything else I've tried (MPC at least asks for the username/password and then says it can't render the content). Oh yeah- all my stuff is ripped in OGG. |

A winXP machine at work that's severely locked down is what I typically use and it works fine. I used Alien's guide to set up MythWeb securely. My material is typically in mp3 and wav, but I haven't verified that the latter really works - there's enough material to keep me entertained anyway... Cheers, /Chris |

Thanks Chris! The root of my problem seems to be that my media is all in OGG. All of the Linux machines that connect work with no problem. Looks like the latest windows version can do it with windows media, but you have to install an ogg codec somewhere. Man, I wish windows was as easy to use as, say, Ubuntu. Heck I wish windows was as easy to use as Slackware. |
