Post subject: | R6 - AverA180 & PVR150 cards conflicting - RESOLVED |
Did a fresh install of LinHes R6. I have two captures cards: - Hauppauge PVR-150 (for analog off SD cable box) - Avermedia A180 (for QAM) I set them up correctly and I'm able to watch live tv and record off of them. On reboot the PVR-150 is listed as unavailable. I go back into the setup and see the entry for the PVR-150 (ivtv tuner) but the modprobe description shows the analog side of the A180 (which I thought was unusable in Linux). Apparently the modprobe is re-assigning the analog tuner of the A180 as the ivtv card for my PVR-150. I get out of the setup and my lircd.conf file has been overwritten by the system, blowing away my changes for my blaster and cable box. I'm guessing I have to block the loading of module for the analog tuner side of the A180 on bootup? Anybody having this issue with R6? I really love the combination of Arch+Fluxbox. It's way snappier than the Mythbuntu install I had on there. Just need to work through these issues. |

Spoke to cesman on IRC. He suggested setting up udev. I'll give it a shot tonight. |

Setting Udev rules worked like a champ. No more capture card device number flipping on reboots! I just followed the wiki page: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=Udev Just a note to those using R6, the udevinfo command on Arch is slightly different than most Linux distros: udevinfo -a -p $(udevinfo -q path -n /dev/video0) Should be the following on Arch based distros: udevadm info -a -p $(udevinfo -q path -n /dev/video0) |
