Ok, I thought I followed all of the tips for getting digital out to work for all sound sources. MythDVD works like a champ. No problems there. MythMusic has no sound out - but here is the odd thing: it doesn't look like it is even trying to play an MP3. When I try to play from the GUI it appears to hang for a few seconds (sometimes up to about 20) and does not play the music. The visualizations are not running, so I know it is not a volume issue. Watching TV is the same. No sound (but video) and it can hang when I try to change the channel. I have set dsp_map and adsp_map to my digital source and seem to have followed all of the setup instructions - but it is the hanging that seems to be causing some of the problems and I can't figure out how to track that one down. Is there a straightforward way to just punt again (I have mucked with the configs so much I fogot most of the steps I have tried in the process) and put the sound back to the 2-channel out? If not, can anyone give a pointer as to what is causing MythMusic to seem to hang and not attempt playing any music? |

brianmat, You did not provide any information about the hardware you are trying to get this to work on. If it is the nforce2 mobo, then I can help you. The steps found in this topic really do work: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1829 I can understand the frustration, but with my nforce2 board, I have reinstalled about 6 times now, each time I go back through the steps one by one and it all works perfectly. I keep screwing other things up, so that is why I keep reinstalling. Post exactly what the problem is, and we can try and help. I have audio working in everything but the games. |

Well, the problem is this: I can run music through dsp and DVDs thought ADSP (configured for digital) but I get nothing from TV. Actually, when I watch TV the video is jerky as all get out. If I get the TV sound working, DVDs are either no sound or this awful buzzing/thumping sound. What exactly should I post to help debug this? I would be happy to generate any outputs that would work in troubleshooting, but for the moment I have resigned myself to using only MythMusic and MythDVD. I am using a TV2000 tuner with an integrated mobo (Intel i840 sound). Like I said, I can get 2 out of 3 items working at at time, but not all 3. Digital works like a champ on DVDs and music sounds great. Once I get the TV up and running this thing will be rocking. |
