Hi, I was trying to get WinMyth working and ended up creating and I think accidentally deleting or changing somehow the mythtv user account and associated properties, permissions, etc. I know this is a problem since now when I reboot the KnoppMyth box the frontend fails to start because it can't connect to the backend. When I log in as mythtv, the command /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend start gives me an error something like it "cannot do initgroups() with gid 101". I do not have the exact error message since I had to start the backend as root and then the frontend starts properly so I could record "Lost" tonight! I will post the exact error message if it will help. Any help would be greatly appreciated! THANKS! Andrew Lynch |

groupadd -g 101 mythtv usermod -g mythtv G audio,cdrom mythtv or You can mythbackup and auto upgrade. |
