I built up a Myth box a few weeks ago. It has a PVR-250, Sempron 2500, 512 MB. I have a second instance of LIRC running to control the DISH receiver.

My buddy has shown a lot of interest so I offered to let him use the box for a while. He also has a DISH receiver but a much different subscription. So I created a new ZAP2IT profile that matches his subscription ( I later realized I could have turned off unused channels). There are no recordings on the box. I started mythtv-setup and answered yes, yes to clear out everything. I added a new video card and video source and bound them. I ran mythfilldatabase and it retrieved the new info and correctly populated the guide. I restarted the backend and noticed two things. When I pick "watch TV" it starts up with B&W video. An arrow key up or down will kick it into color (This is a minor annoyance but may be a symptom of something)

The next thing I noticed is that the DISH receiver was not getting channel change commands. I went to setup->general and saw that the "keypress application" line was now blank (it should be /usr/local/bin/change_chan.sh). I added that and restarted the machine. The DISH receiver was still not getting channel change commands. I started an xterm and ran the channel change script manually and it worked fine.

Any suggestions on where to look to fix this are appreciated.
