What is wrong with add_ati_remote? It doesn't use LIRC but a kernel module. Perhaps you need you read the LIRC docs. In addition to compiling LIRC for you remote you need an appropriate /erc/lircd.com and ~/.lircrc(since mythtv is compiled for LIRC ~/.mythtv/lircrc).

Did you ever get the ATI Remote Wonder working with xine?

I used the ATI remote for awhile but found it's buttons non-intuitive.
The Hauppauge remote is perfect for normal use. When additional functionality is required my wireless RF Gyration keyboard does the job better than any remote can.

Does your ATI remote work for elsewhere, just not in xine?

Baseclass, can you use the Haup. remote with any tuner, or does it have to be a Haup tuner as well?

My DVD-ROM finally arrived for my Mythbox. I installed xine and I'm using the GATOS driver for the ATI Remote Wonder. It works just fine for xine. I had to remap the keys to work the way I wanted them to, but it works fine. I'm not sure what the reason is for yours not working.

there is a known problem with some usb keyboards and mice on the current version of knoppmyth. you may want to give the alpha a try.
