Can somebody please run through the process of setting up FTP access on knoppmyth (R5A10), I've tried a few things found on the web (http://www.knoppix.net/oldwiki/?pid=315) nothing really does any wonders.
and after searching on this forum nobody really talks about it. -Maybe Im missing something here...is it already running?¿?¿?
When i try to access it I get "socket error: no connection" in a LeechFTP client (on winXP of course  )

Linux people tend to frown upon insecure protocols like ftp and telnet. We like scp and ssh. Get winscp for your XP box. :)

You don't need to use ftp . With ssh running you can connect to it using winscp http://winscp.sourceforge.net/eng/download.php or even filezilla. However, if you are planning on transferring a lot of data may I recommend mapping a samba share instead. It has been my experience that transferring large amounts of data from my windows box to my MythTV is much faster using samba. There is an howto on the wiki: http://knoppmythwiki.homelinux.org/inde ... SambaHowTo

Thank you very much! WinSCP was so easy to setup..actually there was no setting up at all, this is fantastic! :D Although I will still use samba for mappings like masonjd said.
Thanks guys.
