I'm using R5A10 on a frontend as follows:

Celeron 733
Geforce MX4000 (440)
192 Megs ram
100mbit ethernet (same switch as backend..)
ATI RemoteWonder Remote
(& keyboard)

When playing back video the quality is great.. no issues, however the second i try to pause/rwnd/ffwd or do anything it seems to jump forward a few seconds and revert back to where it was or i can't fast forward more than a few seconds at a time..

Pause from the remote doesn't seem to unpause either..

I have XvMC enabled - is that a known issue with OSD and such freezing when enabled? (fading menus or something like that??)

I don't think its necessarily an lirc/remote problem since using the keys from a keyboard does the same.

well you mention fading meus, so you have obviously searched and know that it's a known issue. The issue is with xvmc and there is nothing the knoppmyth developers can do about it. And yes it still exist with no solution in site.

yes you can it's been covered several times on the forums. I cannot remember the exact file or line you have to edit, so you'll have to search, but I know you edit one of the xml files and change the fadeout from 30 to 0. This helps with xvmc problems, but does not alleviate them completely.
