First off, A12 is great! It took my 45 minutes to upgrade and get everything up and running again. Congratulations to Dale and Cecil! I did run into one strange problem though. A couple of days later, I noticed that the wrong shows were being recorded. Even in LiveTV, the wrong channel would be shown. Looking closer, I discovered that all the frequencies were "off by one". For example, CNN is on SE24 in my area. I had to change the setup to use SE23 to display CNN. A few channels required some fine tune as well. Anyway, all but one of my channels (guess which one) are working this way now. However, I'm not sure where to start looking to find the root cause. I don't see the actual numeric frequency used in any of the logs. Any ideas? Allen |

If you check the MythTV docs, it talks about what to do when the channels are off by one. |

Ah, yes. There it is, under "Canada Cable". Who would have thought that would apply to a Canadian living in Germany ![]() Damn. I though I had escaped the dreaded tuner= problem when my card worked out-of-the-box in A8. As this is the problem where a seach turns up multiple search-the-forum posts, I'll try and start a wiki once I figure it out. In the mean time, I have tried 2, 39 and 32. Those were the ones I found in my searches. I'm down to trial and error now. Can anyone suggest some more candidates? I can collect them and put them into the wiki. Or is there a more deterministic way that I have missed. I did find the ivtv parameters document for tuner, but they listed things like LG_NTSC_NEW_TAPC which doesn't tell me much. I am assuming that all the card= suggestions are now obsolete in A12 as my card is recognized based on lspci -v: Code: 0000:01:06.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC16 (CX23416) MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)
Subsystem: Hauppauge computer works Inc. WinTV PVR 250 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 16 Memory at d4000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=64M] Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2 Allen |

The winning number is..... nothing. That's right, I think it is best to simply delete the tuner line. I noticed that there was a warning in dmesg that this option is now obsolete. I also noticed that tveeprom was getting the correct tuner value (14). So... I deleted the "options tuner type=2" line and all worked. I guess the question is, were did this line come from and would it be best to take it out now that the newer version of ivtv is in the distribution? cesman: Thanks for the hints. (I'm glad my card was right. I didn't want to go through trial and error with 2 variables...) Allen |

I guess I didn't think about it... IvyTV now does a better job of finding the correct tuner type. I'll have to remember to comment it in future releases. |

The "options debug=1" line can probably go too since it's apparently not even a recognized option anymore. Of course since my /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv is old it may already be gone... |
