I solved my problem; Silver Remote not working after upgrading to A15.1, here is what I found.
Somehow I ended up with two different "lircd" files in two different areas
1- /usr/local/sbin/lircd # dated April 12
2- /usr/sbib/lircd # dated March 28

I followed all the directions found throughout the forums and had bootmisc.sh pointing to #1 above, could not get it to work. When I found #2 I changed the reference to /usr/sbin/lircd. Now it works.

My question is why two versions in two locations, and why the older one works. Should I copy the version from /usr/sbin/lircd to /usr/local/sbin/lircd or just let it pont to the differnt location.

I also have both lircd versions.

root@mythtv:/usr/sbin# ./lircd --version
lircd 0.7.1pre2
root@mythtv:/usr/sbin# /usr/local/sbin/lircd --version
lircd 0.7.0
root@mythtv:/usr/sbin# which lircd
/usr/sbin/lircd

lirc works for me with my silver remote, but hopefully this helps someone.
