Hi, i just installed everything, first time away from windows, and everything is running. However, i have noticed that there is a delay going from live tv to the program guide (about 4 sec). there is also a delay going to the weather information. Any ideas? Thanks, Landon |

well the term "delay" doesnt give me any idea how long it is.. but i would also try and change the guide to "lowest cpu usage" and see if that speeds it up. mythweather is dog slow on all of my systems.. but should be slow quiting. |

In MythWeather the delay is because it's hitting at least a couple different web sites to gather the pieces. It takes 4-5 seconds for just weather.com (where it gets the maps) to come up in my browser. Not to mention that it's also hitting another site for the text forecasts. |

I get the same thing too. I don't think it's there with R4V5. I'd have to compare both that version and R5A12 with and without pvr-350 out to see if there are differences as I have been moving between the two versions and configuring output for tv so at the moment I don't have a test matrix with any figures. |

I've noticed a recent slowdown of the program guide--slow to start, slow to navigate. Now that I think a bit, it seems to have started when I turned on networking to browse the DB from my PC (I was curious). I don't think I turned it back off. You might want to check if networking is on. Edit /etc/mysql/my.cnf and make sure 'skip-networking' is not commented out. Allen |
