I cannot for the life of me get the silver hauppauge 350 remote to work. I've gone though a lot of the docs but nothing happens. Serial number A415 OH/S 1-4 I've tried killing the lircd process and then running irw but no matter what buttons I press, nothing happens. When I type irrecord it tells me to hold down a button then gives me an error "unable to find gap" or something along those lines. I know the batteries are good as I've tested them on another remote. Does anyone have a way to tell if this hardware is working or not? |

You can try the "camera trick" to see if your remote is transmitting IR. Get a digital camera, and use the camera's display to look at the LED on the front of the remote while you press the buttons. The camera can detect the IR, and you will see the LED flash when you press buttons on the remote if it is working. |

I was actually searching for a camera in my house to try that with as I was posting the last message. Yes the remote is working. |
