Hi all,

Just about got this puppy running! I've been working at this for about half a day and the I've got everything setup but have yet to get live TV working :x

I'm plugging into cable out of the wall into my PVR-350. I've got S-Video coming out of a Nvidia GF4 MX440 into my television. I've ran through the 'wizard' and selected "tuner0" for my source. I've signed up with zap2it and have a valid account listed as well. However, I cannot get any TV to display...only static. Can someone point me in the right direction?

We need more info. I suggest the output of dmesg after a full restart:

1. restart box.
2. ssh into box.
3. run dmesg.
4. paste output of dmesg here.

I suspect the issue is one of the following: bad card setup, the tuner setting in the ivtv's module config and/or using a card with hardware not included in that build of ivtv.

Getting the tuner configured under mythtv-setup can be non-obvious.

The frequency set that you choose under "General" may not be obvious and there's two different ones for different US cable systems. If one doesn't work try the other.

What it calls "Video sources" is really far more about getting the program guide data for your area or cable system or satellite feed, ... This is where you need your zap2it login info...

Finally under "Input connections" make sure that you've associated your "Video source" typically something like "Cable" with only the correct input from the card - usually "Tuner 0".

I'm having the same problem. I've tried changing the frequencies for my card and messed aroudn with almost all the settings i can think of that would be related to the static/snow/fuzz. I'm a linux newbie so maybe i'm missing something?

My hardware is
Celeron 1.7
768MB RAM
Nvidia TI4200 Vdieo card
Hauppauge PVR-350

Any suggestions? Anyone?

Perhaps a search of the forum.

Did you search for PVR-350? Several excellent threads on that recently.

Did you take the lines that say:
Code:
options ivtv debug=1
options tuner type=2

Out of /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv? Cecil is probably sick of posting that answer after the 12th time in the last 2 weeks. ;-)

There are several other possibilities but lets start with those...
