I'm trying to setup a remote frontend. On my backend, which has been running stable for a while, I ran mythtv-setup and changed the two IP adresses in there from 127.0.0.1 to 192.168.0.101. Immediatly after that I rebooted and then X wouldn't start. I'm running the latest CVS as of last night and the ivtv-0.2.0-rc3h driver. The following is from XFree86.0.log. Code: (II) Loading extension RECORD
(II) LoadModule: "ivtvdev" (II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ivtvdev_drv.o (II) Module fbdev: vendor="The XFree86 Project" compiled for 4.3.0, module version = 0.1.0 ABI class: XFree86 Video Driver, version 0.6 (II) LoadModule: "mouse" (II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/mouse_drv.o (II) Module mouse: vendor="The XFree86 Project" compiled for 4.3.0, module version = 1.0.0 Module class: XFree86 XInput Driver ABI class: XFree86 XInput driver, version 0.4 (II) v4l driver for Video4Linux (II) IVTVDEV: driver for framebuffer: fbdev (II) Primary Device is: PCI 01:00:0 (EE) open /dev/fb1: No such device (EE) No devices detected. Fatal server error: no screens found Any ideas of what went wrong? Alternativly, is there a way I can undo my changes? I can't seem to find where mythtv-setup stores its IP settings. |

I gave up on this one and just did a reinstall. When I installed the latests CVS it messed up in the same way again. I went back a few days in CVS, installed and it worked. In the interest of tracking down a bug I spent the next several hours installing from CVS at various days and times only to discover that the latest doesn't have this problem anymore. Very strange. Nothing in myth-commits recently sounds related. I'm getting another error now, "cannot initialize video" when I try to watch recordings or live tv. I'll try an older CVS version tonight. I couldn't get on the Chris Kennedy site to download ivtv, so I'm using the version that came with R4V5, which has had problems for me before. |
