I just tried to transfer the Oceans Twelve DVD to HD and although the English audio track was selected (be default, just as any other DVD), the saved version was in French! This has happened before, with a Scooby Doo DVD, which always ripped in Spanish regardless of language selection.

Any ideas on why this is happening and/or a fix? These are the only two films I've come across which have this problem.

I've seen this too. Which version of Myth are you using? There may be some fix for this in 0.18. You might head over to Gossamer and search the myth-user and myth-dev mail groups.
