Hi everyone

I have been lurking for a while and gotta say thanks to cesman and the crew for knoppmyth, it rocks!

I set up my first knoppmyth box a couple of months ago on my desktop and wiped out windows (very satisfying) and it worked like a charm so I decided to go for it and buy a nice shuttle machine to replace the many boxes and wires surrounding my TV.

I've had some major hassles though, the shuttle SK83G I thought had a nvidia chipset turned out to have a VIA K8M800 chipset and I can't for the life of me get the TV-out working. From the research I have done it looks like I need to install the Unichrome driver, which requires recompiling and patching XFree86 - am I understanding this correctly? If anyone has an easier solution I would love to hear it - I can't even get XF to compile. I'm very new to linux, but learning fast!

unicrome support should already be present in knoppmyth, because that is the driver that the epia uses.

The man page for via says that the K8M800 support is patchy, I think my chipset is unsupported :(

output of startx when i put "via" in as driver

.
.
EE VIA(0): ViaVidHWDiffInit: Unhandled Chipset
EE VIA(0): ViaSetPrimaryFIFO: Chipset 3 not implemented
.
.

Has anyone managed to get a SK83G to work with driver other than VESA?
